My Expenses does not operate its own account service. Your sheets, expenses, and settings are stored on your device and, when you are signed in to iCloud, synchronized through your private or shared iCloud databases.
Information stored on your device
The app stores your sheets, expenses, categories, members, settlements, budgets, settings, subscription access state, and widget data in its local app and shared widget containers.
Removing the app may remove its local data but does not by itself delete data stored in iCloud.
iCloud sync and sharing
When you are signed in to iCloud, Apple CloudKit synchronizes your expense data between your devices. Personal sheets are stored in your private iCloud database. When you share a sheet, its data is available to the people you invite through an iCloud shared database. Apple processes this data under its privacy policy.
Sync happens automatically. If iCloud is temporarily unavailable, the app continues using its local database and resumes synchronization when iCloud becomes available. People with access to a shared sheet can see its contents, so review its members before adding sensitive information.
Analytics and crash reports
Anonymous product analytics are enabled by default and can be disabled at any time under Settings → Share Anonymous Analytics. When enabled, My Expenses sends limited events to PostHog, such as whether a sheet or expense was created or which view was selected. These events do not include amounts, sheet names, categories, or member names.
The app uses Sentry for crash and error reports. Sentry is configured not to send default personal information, screenshots, view hierarchies, memory snapshots, or performance traces. Reports may include the app version, device and operating system information, an anonymous installation identifier, the failed operation, and technical error details.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store purchases. My Expenses uses RevenueCat to check subscription and lifetime purchase status. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, product and transaction identifiers, entitlement status, purchase dates, and renewal or expiration information. My Expenses does not receive your payment card details.
Website data
This website has no accounts, forms, advertising, or first-party analytics. It is hosted by Vercel, which may process standard request data such as your IP address, browser details, requested pages, timestamps, and security logs to deliver and protect the site.
Sharing and transfers
Data is shared only with Apple, PostHog, Sentry, RevenueCat, and Vercel for the purposes described above, with the people you invite to a sheet, or when required by law. My Expenses does not sell personal data or share it for targeted advertising.
Your choices
You can disable analytics, stop sharing a sheet, remove participants, delete expense data, change iCloud access in Settings, and manage purchases through your Apple account.
For access, deletion, or other privacy requests involving analytics or crash data, contact hello@karelbusta.dev. Include any anonymous identifier you want us to investigate, if available.
Children
My Expenses is not directed to children under 13, and the app does not knowingly collect names, email addresses, or account profiles from children.
Changes
This policy may change when the app, website, or service providers change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
